Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced that his offices will start taking on casework in an attempt to help struggling Nevada homeowners. While Reid won’t be able to solve every homeowner’s problem, he is able to help people get in touch with those who may be able to help with financial counseling, legal aid and other services. Reid’s goal is to ensure Nevadans are able to access as much information as possible in order to prevent foreclosure whenever possible.

“One of the biggest complaints I get from people fighting to stay in their homes is that they can’t get anyone on the phone to talk to them,” Reid said. “They get an automated system that tells them, dial four to get here, or three to get there. It’s like a maze but, at the end of the day, they never actually get the assistance they need—especially from banks and loan servicers. These people are just looking to get someone on the phone who can help navigate these troubled waters, and that’s how I can help.”

Nevadans looking for more information should visit this casework information page or call (702) 388-5020 in southern Nevada and (775) 686-5750 in northern Nevada.
