Reid Discusses Benefits For Nevada In New Defense Funds

Nevada Senator Harry Reid yesterday secured more than $89 million for Nevada projects as part of the Department of Defense Appropriations bill. These funds will be used to create jobs and and support the state’s role in keeping America safe.“Nevada plays an important role in our military’s effort to keep our country safe,” Reid said.  “These funds will help create jobs and ensure that Nevada’s military installations, troops, businesses and universities have the resources they need to carry out their mission.”

Also included in the bill is an amendment co-sponsored by Senators Reid and Ensign to change the name and redfine the mission of the Nevada Test Site.
