April 16, 2010 Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Reid met with Tom Dalzell, Business Manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 representing Northern Nevada. Senator Reid discussed work force issues around renewable energy, the union’s contract negotiations with NV Energy, as well as efforts to create new jobs in Nevada through smart grid technology. “These workers are the future of clean energy,” said Reid. “They will be the ones who construct, install and maintain the wind turbines, solar panels and efficient energy systems that are diversifying Nevada’s economy.”
