April 30, 2008 Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid met with members from the Las Vegas and Reno divisions of the American Heart Association (AHA.) "I appreciated the opportunity to meet with this diverse group of Nevadans who shared their personal stories of heart disease and stroke," Reid said. "I will continue working to ensure Nevadans receive help when it comes to healthcare issues and supporting increased funding for crucial heart and stroke programs at the Center for Disease Control and National Institute of Health." During the meeting, members from the AHA chapter from Nevada applauded Reid for his help passing the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
