More Than $1 Million in Economic Recovery Funding Headed to Carson City to Enhance Local Transit

Funds will increase operational efficiency of Metropolitan Planning Organization

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today following the announcement by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood of more than $1 million dollars to purchase and rehab six buses and one paratransit vehicle, as well as ADP software and preventive maintenance for Douglas County and Carson City.

“Secretary LaHood visited Nevada last week, and during our meeting, we discussed some of the urgent transportation needs in our state,” Reid said. “Carson City and Douglas County will benefit greatly from these new buses and technology, and I’m pleased to announce that my friend Secretary LaHood recognizes the importance of investing in local transit in Nevada.
