Funds will also help lower bills by reducing energy use

September 30, 2009

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced more than $9.5 million in economic recovery funding for green job creation and energy efficiency.  The funds will also go towards reducing energy consumption which will help lower utility bills across the state.

“Some of the eligible projects include energy audits and building retrofits in the residential and commercial sector, the development and implementation of advanced building codes and inspections, and the creation of financial incentive programs for energy efficiency improvements.”

“One of the best ways to turn Nevada’s economy around is to diversify it by investing in clean energy,” Reid said.  “This money allows us to strengthen our workforce while using energy more efficiently and helping to lower utility bills.”
