Reid Announces $695,000 Headed To Jackpot For Water System Upgrades

Project will create jobs reducing the town’s excessive levels of uranium in drinking water supply

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced $695,000 of economic recovery financing is headed to the Town of Jackpot in Elko County to help bring Jackpot’s water system into compliance with the State of Nevada drinking water requirements. The funds will be used to install a new well and well house, two booster pumps, meters for the entire system and backup electrical generation for two wells.
                                   
“This money will create jobs in Elko, while reducing the excessive levels of uranium that were found in Jackpot’s drinking water,” Reid said.
