In Nevada, everyone can go to college. Every year, Nevada students from all income levels receive financial aid, including federal and state grants, and work study. US Senator Harry Reid and the Nevada System of Higher Education are sponsoring a series of workshops in Las Vegas, Elko, and Reno on how Nevadans can go to college, and get free help applying for federal and state financial aid. College and financial aid experts from the colleges and universities in the Nevada System of Higher Education will be available to show students the pathways they can choose to go to college, as well as help them learn more about financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Students who already know that they want to go to college, as well as those who aren’t sure that college is possible are strongly encouraged to attend. We also encourage them to bring family and friends. For assistance in applying for financial aid using the on-line Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), bring your 2007 income information, as well as students’ and parents’ 2007 income tax information.
